Requirements of the JPO programme for German nationals
The JPO Programme offers a distinctive opportunity for young professionals to cultivate their skills and expertise, while simultaneously bringing new perspectives and innovative ideas into the organization.
Junior Professional Officers (JPOs) are sponsored by their respective donor governments. Some donor governments, like Italy, Netherlands, Belgium, and Sweden also sponsor nationals from less developed partner countries.
Germany sponsors its JPOs for a minimum of 2 years and a maximum of 4 years.
Minimum requirements to apply:
- German citizenship;
- Master’s degree or equivalent;
- Two to four years of professional experience after graduation.

Career fairs in Germany
Do you study in Germany, or you are a German national interested in joining UNICEF? We participate in in-person and virtual events to meet talented professionals and inform them about career paths and opportunities at UNICEF.
You can meet us at the "Career Fair International Organizations", organized every year by the German Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The event is held either in-person or virtually.
