Karin Hulshof is the UNICEF Regional Director for East Asia and the Pacific, based in Bangkok, Thailand. She is responsible for oversight, ensuring overall policy and programme coherence and advocacy for UNICEF across the region.

Water and sanitation

Improved water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) prevents illness and disease. UNICEF works to expand WASH access for children in Asia-Pacific.

Emergencies

Emergencies are caused by natural disasters or conflict. UNICEF helps children during emergencies and works to better prepare for future disasters.
