A father, a teacher. An inspiration.
Mr. Sdeng was inspired to help other children with disabilities after helping his son
Seeing his son turned away from school due to autism had a huge impact on both Sdeng's and his son's life.
After finding a daycare centre run by a local NGO that provides supports to children with physical and intellectual disabilities, Sdeng not only saw how it helped children like his son but made him want to become a teacher himself.
From being a volunteer to a special education teacher, and now school manager, Sdeng is not only making differences in his son’s life, but also for other children with special needs and disabilities.
He strongly believes in parents being actively involved in children’s early development and hopes his work can help beat stigma, discrimination, and barriers around disabilities in Cambodia
