September 2011: School children line up as they was their hands prior to the mid-day meals at the Kharipihipa, Junior Basic School. The child cabinet members ensure that hand washing, personal hygiene, waste management, and other issues are followed in the school premises. The child cabinet also known as “Bal Sansads” is a joint initiative of the Department of Human Resources Development, the Drinking Water and Sanitation Department, the Government of West Bengal and UNICEF.
